Alice’s Astrology & Beyond August 2007 An Enlightening Weave of Astrology, Feng Shui & Spirituality The longer term planetary positions for 2007  is the backdrop of themes upon which the monthly planetary energies offer a further focus.   AUGUST’S ASTROLOGICAL THEMES: Really questioning whether the way you live your life is allowing you to express what you authentically feel in your heart.  It’s time to ask yourself, “Am I having fun?” The feeling that there are parts of your life that are wanting to find a new expression through expansion, yet the challenge is in finding the best direction for this potential new path. Having the need more than ever to speak up for things that you feel are important to you. August 28th brings a powerful total Lunar Eclipse into our month, asking us to look at that which has been in the shadows of our mind, bringing forth the theme of service-to-self and service to others and to what degree you are balancing that (or not).  Spend time in meditation and ask for guidance on that which you desire to see clearly as you move into the month of September. After over two years, Saturn is in its final degrees of Leo causing many of us to re-look at how we have structured or restructured our lives so that we are living a more authentic expression of ourselves.  With Jupiter coming out of retrograde (moving “forward” once again) on the 6th, all that which we have been thinking about for the last four months is now is ready to find a life and with Mars (planet of action) moving into Gemini (sign of duality) our choices need to be balanced and explored carefully so we embark on the path that best serves our purposes. ON THAT WHICH IS OF YOUR HEARTS DESIRE:  It is a natural tendency to subconsciously “listen” to the voices and desires of those around us as we create the base and structure from which we operate within our lives. Especially when it comes to our own hearts desire do we feel guilty if we are doing something and having too much fun.  We have all come with a fire within that must have an authentic expression.  Sometimes in life, we get caught up in responsibilities and doing what we think is right according to other’s rules that we forget what it is that we originally had a desire for. For the final month of Saturn in Leo, really use this energy to help you change that which is no longer fun.  Resign from that committee that no longer holds your interest, stop meeting that person that you do so only because you feel sorry for them, release all obligations that are suffocating you.  The way to recognize where you need to restructure is by noticing how you feel when you think about it. Listen to the voice in your heart, not the voice of your inner critic that sits on the Board of Obligation. ON THE DIRECTION OF YOUR EXPANSION: We are evolutionary beings who are continually expanding, growing and changing – no exception.  Though things may get to a place that is comfortable, it is important to realize that growth is a positive thing and especially if it is self-motivated.  With Jupiter moving out of retrograde, it would be a natural time for moving forward in ways you have only been thinking of. Have you been thinking about learning a new skill?  Going back to school? Taking a trip?  Anything to further your energy would be most positive, just take the time to explore all the options so that when you are ready to commit you chose the path that is most perfect for you, not for anyone else.  Make sure as well that you are not over-extending yourself, and if so, what is it that you can release to allow for your full expression in expansion. ON SPEAKING UP ON THINGS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO YOU:    Some people have no problem speaking up for what they want or what they believe in.  Others find it to be hard to express what they are really feeling inside and tend to keep it in, even when they know that it would be better to speak their mind.  With Mercury (planet of communication) moving into Leo (sign of the heart’s expression) at the beginning of August, the energy is perfect to re-look at this aspect of our communication. If you are one that does speak up, are you speaking your truth in love and is it coming across sincerely and genuinely, or is it coming from a place of ego?  If you have trouble expressing yourself, know that in the honest expression coming from a place of love, you can only improve the situation for all parties involved.   Trust that it is of utmost importance that you are truthful in every communication and that all will turn out in the most positive light. Weaving Feng Shui into Astrology Feng Shui is the intentional positioning and conscious aligning of all aspects of your environment to create the most supporting energetic surroundings possible so that you thrive while being there. By understanding the Astrological energies of the month, we are able to naturally find a further focus on particular areas of the home or specific things you can do within your home to enhance and fully utilize the energies around you. The Astrological energies this month would find their maximum positive expression in a focus on your fame area (how others view you and your reputation), how you place items that relate to each other around your home, and what you have around you and if that support you or not. FENG SHUI SUGGESTIONS FOR AUGUST: Put some attention on the Fame Area of your environment.  Find this by standing at the door to your home or room and face in. The middle third of the far wall  is your fame area.  This area holds the energy of fire and represents how others perceive you as well as your reputation amongst those around you.  By placing items that represent the fire element such as candles, lights, pyramid shaped objects you will be enhancing that area.  This will help you to be able to authentically express yourself without the restrictions that you feel may be placed on you when you try to do what feels is your hearts expression. To maximize power and focus in an environment, group together like items.  For example, if you have a collection of small animal figurines, instead of having them spread throughout the room, bring them together as it brings together the power into a focus you will feel while in the room.  Like colored items, trophies, awards, collections, etc will all benefit from this concept. This is an excellent strategy for when you need an extra source of support or focus of energy for something you are wanting to manifest or move forward on. Have only things that you absolutely love around you.  Everything you have in your environment holds and energy that either supports you or weakens you.  By allowing your environment to have anything and everything, whether you like those items, or use those items or not, you have are not feeding yourself with 100% fully positive “vibes”.  So, look around you and remove things that are old, do not represent you anymore or you do not like.  This will filter out all the things that are not supporting you energetically.  If someone gave you something that you don’t like, it’s OK to honor the intent in your heart and then give it away or donate it so that you do not lose energy to it when it is in your surroundings. By doing one or all of the above, you’ll be utilizing the astrological energies to work with you to maximize all that is going on in your life by placing and doing things to our support system around us, our very own homes and environment. Moving forward into August, Pele, Goddess of Fire offers some words to bring a new energy of thought and understanding into your life. “I come to you this day from the light of Goddess and so it is also in love that I speak these words.  Just as it is in love that you were brought forth and in love that you chose to incarnate, it is only in love that you will move to new levels of your life.  In this time of great shifting energies about you,  I urge each and every one to focus on your love of self, as that is what which will sustain you as you move into new areas of exploration in times ahead.  So much of what you have held close to you is that which you are familiar with…not to be confused with that which you are. As the light of who you are chooses to come more fully into the expression of that which you are expressing yourself to be here on earth, things that once made sense to you may no longer hold the same reality for you and in that the confusion may set in as to who you really are.  If you remember my words, you will also remember that you need not place worry upon any of these changes in your life or in your thinking, but rather celebrate that which may bring forth the fear. And  what is the fear you feel but a potential that you think you know nothing about.  Because this potential is shrouded in what you see as darkness, what you are feeling is simply the lack of light. In the celebration I speak of, bring forth the light into the fears and that which once caused you to feel discomfort,  evolves into that which is freeing, refreshing and all brand new.  It takes but the knowing that if you point your thoughts into the direction of the  celebratory energies I speak of, you cannot help but bring light to that which feels dark. As I come from the light of Goddess, I also come from the knowing that if you can open your mind to understand my words, you will know in your heart that it is as simple as using your powerful brain to think yourself into the best possible desire that you have and in that the light will shine forth. So in my sharing my energy with you this day, know that you can understand the way to a better space so very easily if you just open yourself up to the knowing that everything that you think, say or do,  must be a celebration no matter what the circumstances.
