You may be wondering why I have named
this section of Dannion.com, Brink's Giant Eagle. Well, let me
explain. This was the name of our family owned grocery store. It
was a small Mom and Pop business run with tenderness and great
love in our small community, where I grew up, in South Carolina.
But Brink's was more than a business in those days; it was a local
hub for the celebration of life. And my family was in this business
for over one hundred years. On any given day, you could find a
local family doing their weekly shopping with five or maybe even
six generations in tow. From great-grandmothers to their great-great
grandchildren, many families used their shopping time at Brink's
Giant Eagle as an occasion to reminisce with friends and family.
Over
the years, many of our customers became extended family to the
Brinkleys. Together, we celebrated births, and mourned the passing
of loved ones. As only families can, we cheered one another in
good times, and lent support during life's challenges and difficulties.
So, this section of Dannion.com is dedicated to
my family, including my father, his father and his father's father.
All of these men were heroes of mine; all of them great and courageous
men of conviction. My family cared for each other, and extended
family, with loyalty, honor and respect.
Just like Brink's Giant Eagle delivered groceries
to the homes of many of our customers, I am proud to continue in
the tradition of my forefathers. Happily, through this section
of the website, I will continually seek to deliver to your home
a variety of quality products and services I believe will nourish
your soul and elevate your spirit. What I hope most to create from
this is a true sense of family.
