Text Box: Dear Friends:
Wow, it hardly seems possible, but we’ve almost reached the halfway point of our year. Have you accomplished all the things you set out to do by summer? Or have you continued to add more things to your list before achieving the projects in line before them? As humans, we simply have that tendency to keep adding to our lives—more debt, more responsibility, more stress—without taking time to fully and truly enjoy what we already have on our plates. It’s so easy for life to slip away under a pile of unpaid bills, and unfulfilled dreams and promises, without us ever having the chance to genuinely appreciate the moment. Life is indeed for the living, and as we teach everywhere we go, life is much more precious and delicious when we realize there is no such thing as death! When people believe in death, and fear it accordingly, all their time is taken up in trying to avoid the dark intruder, instead of plunging into the celebration of life. And the best way we know to celebrate life is to be in the moment. To savor each morsel of love and laughter that finds its way into our daily experience. There is only now, and right now we have everything we need to be completely happy and whole. You know, to help ourselves to be more fully present, lately we’ve decided to develop the habit of taking time every day to consciously experience a part of each sunrise and sunset. A entirely new world of appreciation opens before you when you perform this act of conscious reverie as the day begins and ends. For with the rising of the sun we are born again, and with the setting of the sun, we are bestowed the gift of rest and glad reflection in its waning. This little ritual, when practiced in the context of appreciation, will embrace your heart with a tremendous humility as it helps you to recapture a profound sense of the purpose and meaning of your life. Taking these few minutes out of the day to sit in awe of Life can honestly change the way you live. We urge you to try it over the next month, and then let us know what you find! If circumstances force you to skip a day (or two, or three) please don’t give up the practice altogether. Just do it as often as you can, and before long it will seem as natural as brushing your teeth. Saluting the sunrise is as old as humankind itself, but this practice continues to be one of the very best ways to stay in touch with the flow and rhythm of life in the here and now. Take some deep, relaxing breaths as you enjoy the light and color show of the dawn and the dusk, and soon you’ll find your soul being soothed by the harmony of universal peace. Happy June to you!
With love and purpose,
Dannion and Kathryn

Text Box: Quote of the Month

“ You need not change your religion to gain understanding. You will probably broaden it a little, but you need not change it. You need not sacrifice anything except the human habit of thinking fearful thoughts. The only thing you must give up eventually, if not immediately, is fear, which includes doubt, self-criticism, worry, envy, resentment—human emotions, surface emotions. The only feeling within you, and deep within you, is love, and this you will learn as you truly and sincerely seek to know your self. ”

In all of my life

Text Box: Hello Everybody!

Each month, as I sit down to write this article there are so many things that go through my mind: the war, healthcare, immigration, the economy, and of course, our spiritual unfoldment. But, this month I only have two major things (and one minor thing) on my mind. Lucky you!
First, and most disturbing of all, is the fact that, last week, President Bush signed into law The National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive , without a single word to the public, giving himself the sole ability to declare Marshall Law, in case of a national emergency. The event being declared a national emergency will be totally at the President’s discretion. This directive completely eliminates the need for congressional approval, and has virtually no oversight, whatsoever. It also supersedes the FEMA Law signed by Carter concerning what constitutes the criteria for declaring a state of national emergency. I don’t know about you, but I’m beginning to wonder what our government is really up to! Guys, we’ve got to start asking the right questions, of our so-called leadership, before it is too late. With all the buzz about the eavesdropping law, which we know is illegal, along with the saber-rattling in the Middle East; we’ve now uncovered the fact America’s supporting the Lebanese Army with weapons being used against tented Palestinian refugee camps that have been there for forty years. And we wonder why much of the world hates us? It is most definitely the time for each and every one of us to dissect our lives in search of what is real and what is not. Is this honestly a free society we are living in or are we being set up? I urge you to really think about this. I urge you to do your own research into these matters and see what you find!
Second on my list, as a major concern of the month, is the recent publishing of, An Enormous Crime, a must-read new book by Congressman Bill Hendon and Elizabeth Stewart that cleverly proves we knowingly left between 500-700 prisoners of war (POWs) combined, throughout Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia at the end of the Viet Nam War. Henderson and Stewart write that the reason the Vietnamese kept our military personnel was because Kissinger and Nixon had agreed to pay their government one billion dollars to rebuild their country. Well, when Nixon resigned from the oval office, the deal was off and our boys were left to rot. The authors also state that the last eight administrations have continually perpetuated this cover-up. Although, for a brief period, President Reagan did try to initiate an operation to retrieve our imprisoned military personnel, however, sadly enough, he was convinced otherwise by his administrative cabinet. They convinced him that the American people would lose faith in the government if the truth was told! Then, 1992, Senators John McCain and John Kerry headed an official taskforce that concluded there were no POWs remaining in those countries. I just can’t wait until these new information rears its ugly head as the bid for the White House heats up. Once this story breaks, I hope those who kept this unforgivable secret will pay the price, but then again, I have absolute faith in the panoramic life review!
Lastly, I want you to warn you to brace yourself, for the price of oil is going to continue to climb. So, start to think in terms of $5.00 per gallon, by the onset of autumn. You know, the oil corporations don’t even attempt to justify why the price is so high, and they don’t even flinch when disclosing their year end earnings - 38 billion dollars last year. Can you imagine how much it will be this year? The world’s demand for oil is growing and growing. Therefore, this is precisely the time when we must push for our government to look for alternative forms of fuel. We’ve all heard the hype over ethanol and Bio-fuels. But anyone who’s taken the time to check out the fuel mixture will see it is all a ruse. They are simply hoping to get your mind off the price of gas in the present by keeping you focused on what to expect in the future. And if you expect cheaper prices at the gas pump, please don’t hold your breath.
I know that I’ve not given you much good news this month and, for that, I do apologize. Yet, I know you count on me to call a spade a spade. Through it all, let us remember to be of good cheer because we are great, powerful and mighty spiritual beings. If we can’t get through these challenging times, who can? Remember, I’ve seen the future and I promise you this, our victory is assured!

With love and purpose,

Dannion

Spiritual Strategies for Living Well

For me, this time of year has always been my very favorite. Of course, I was born in Spring so, maybe that’s the draw. But what I know for sure is that I can walk outside my own front door to behold the tiny tulip shoots aspiring towards the warmest rays of the sun, and in the same yard the tightly bound little rosebuds wait eagerly to open and unfold their beauty to the world as they chime happily to the call of the nearby doves. This entire scene is absolutely thrilling to me because it serves to remind me of the continuity and endless beauty of this thing called, Life. Like the changing of the seasons, our lives have phases of barrenness that gradually transform into periods of unimagined brilliance and fulfillment. Our sweltering Las Vegas summer days inevitably melt into those longed for blissful and dreamy autumn afternoons. In time, everything manages to change. Everything. My youngest daughter, Adriana, will enter high school this fall, and I am reeling. I ask myself often, “Where did the time go? It seems only yesterday she was just learning to walk and talk!” But I know in truth it wasn’t really yesterday, or was it. Quantum physicists say there is no such thing as time, there is only now—appearing live and in-person everywhere on the planet! So, when I find I’m longing for yesterday, I remind myself that today really is yesterday, only in a new and improved gift bag!.

But seriously...if time even exists it is ,without a doubt, relative and so very precious. Every moment passes quickly yet, lives in eternity. Finding lasting purpose in learning to string together the moments we’ve been given is an art form , in and of itself. To string together the moments of our lives with unconditional love, unhampered flow, lasting beauty and spiritual meaning is truly the most treasured ingredient in the well– lived life.

In my experience, yearning for days gone by or dreaming of future fulfillment has not served me, at all. In fact, that very same sentimental yearning has inhibited ,if not completely destroyed, my ability to be fully engaged in the wonder of the present. A dear friend of mine used to remind me not to look back or too far ahead in life, for then I would not be able to appreciate where I was in the now. The journey in life is often unpredictable, but always stunning, if only we can maintain an aura of wonder, and a heart open to the promise of goodness. Albert Einstein once made reference to the fact that our experience of life is, in great part, predicated upon whether or not we believe we live in a friendly universe. Of course, it only stands to reason that if our basic mindset leans towards a belief in the Light’s ultimate victory over the encroaching darkness and that only silver dreams invariably line the most ominous of clouds, then it’s a pretty good bet our lives will turn out to be a positive and loving experience. On the other hand, if we are married to the belief that good guys always finish last, and only might makes right, we may well wind up at the bottom of Life’s organic compost heap!

If it’s indeed an issue of mind over matter, then let’s all agree to stuff our minds with fairies and sugar plums. Okay...I agree, that’s a little over the top, even for me! But certainly we can decorate our minds with optimism, hope, faith and good cheer. Surely, that’s not too much to ask. I truly believe that Spirit has already dreamed our dreams for us. Therefore, anything we truly desire, deep in our souls, has been placed there by the Great I AM so that we can genuinely achieve a sense of our own magnificence. Nothing in life happen by accident, least of all the dreams and desires of your heart. Believe in yourself, and believe in the magic that dances all around you. Yesterday, today and tomorrow are all working together to create, uniquely for you, an authentic life of vision and splendor. And it is yours for the believing.

Wishing and hoping may not have the power to turn back the hands of time to keep my baby girl, Adriana, from being old enough to start high school in September, but I believe it will guarantee her of a lifetime filled with joy and happiness, for that is my dream. Come on, give it a try...just dream a little dream and it shall be yours...if only you believe!

“We all have our own life to pursue. Our own kind of dream to be weaving.
And we all have the power to make wishes come true, as long as we keep believing.”

                                                                                                        ~Louisa May Alcott

                           NOW

                                                     &

                                                                     THEN
