That Ain't
Nothin'
Dannion's Monthly Rant
February, 2007
As you may already know, Kathryn and I just returned from our annual “Kick the Tires Tour” through the Yucatan Peninsula. As always, it was a most amazing and enlightening adventure. To see the radiant faces, and hear the comments of the people who make this sojourn with us, is truly the most gratifying aspect of the journey. As we witness them exploring this ancient civilization’s most astounding architecture, and sophisticated urban management, we are indeed humbled. This alone makes our arduous trek deep into the jungle more than worth the tremendous effort involved.
This year, as of January 23, 2007, because of new Homeland Security Rules everyone had to have a passport in order to enter Mexico. This seemed logical and reasonable in light of protecting our national security so, I really didn’t give it much thought. But then I realized that if you were one of the 73% of Americans who do not possess a passport, and were on a vacation in Cancun before this date, you’d just have to walk across the border like tens of thousands US citizens and illegals do everyday.
Now, let me get to the point – as we were walking through the airport in Texas on our way to Merida, Yucatan we passed a billboard that stated everyone is now required to have a passport, even infants! I thought to myself, “ This is just a little crazy!” Once again, the powers that be must be up to something more nefarious than protecting our nation from the likes of evil, terrorist infants! Honestly, what raced through my mind at that moment was this: if a passport lasts for ten years, then could you imagine a ten year-old presenting a nine year-old passport to officials on his way out of the country? This is absurd! When I articulated this thought to my wife, Kathryn, she replied that it was no stranger than a child having to have a social security number by the age of two!
I thought to myself: “How many children get jobs at the age of two, and begin to pay social security tax?” Of course, this was the supposed original intention of the Social Security Administration. Yet, once again, I sense something much more wicked afoot. The combination of these two pieces of information, along with the government’s recently released report admitting to an advanced collection of data mining and the compilation of information at a far more intense level ever admitted to, heretofore, on individual Americans, can only mean one thing: they are attempting to track each and everyone of us from birth to death! Every movement and every transaction we make is destined to be tracked, giving way to the complete loss of our privacy, and thus, our freedom.
Friends, we must now wake up! I cannot tell you unequivocally how to fight this evil, but I know we must indeed fight it! How far away can the chip implants (as I was shown in the Heavens) be if they are willing to do this to us? We must begin to question everything…our human authenticity, our government’s authority and our personal sovereignty. Please friends, do not give away your power along with your democratic rights. Open your eyes and look at what is happening in the land of the free and the home of the brave! Stand firm for righteousness or bid your freedom to privacy a fond farewell.
You
know, I have been dead so many times that I tend to view
life from a slightly different perspective than most people.
Some things that outwardly appear to be serious are not, in
my opinion. While other things that do not appear serious,
really are to me. The saying "That ain't nothin'"
became one of my catch phrases after a man pulled a knife on
a friend and me one night, years ago. The knife terrified my
friend. But after all I have been through in my life, a
little pocket knife wasn't worrying me. I looked at the guy,
looked at the knife, and started to laugh. As I disarmed the
situation, I said to my friend, "Ah, that ain't nothin'!"
The story stuck and the legend grew. So, this monthly column
will be all about my unique viewpoint of current events,
world affairs, spirituality, politics, science, medicine and
life in general. Of course, it will all depend on what kind
of mood I happen to be in!
